Sub section 12   How to close a gate properly

To ensure that the gate has been closed correctly there are several tests one can make to determine whether the gate as been shut properly to form an effective barrier or not.

Test 1. Can you drive a vehicle through the gateway without smashing the gate or damaging your vehicle?

If the answer is yes to this, then chances are that you have probably not succeeded in shutting the gate correctly.

Test 2. Can you stand on the lower bar of the gate and swing the gate any distance in either forward or reverse direction?

If the answer is yes to this then you have probably not succeeded in shutting the gate correctly.

HINTS AND TIPS

 Ensure that all gates are latched or attached securely to the correct gateposts and not left open in anyway whatsoever.
